  • Overview

    WOOD is currently hiring a Systems Engineer to join our team in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. The Systems Engineer will assists mission organizations and data architecture teams in developing logical and conceptual data models that are crafted using a local model methodology.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform logical data modeling. Skills needed include UML and relational theory
    • Develop and maintain artifacts, such as: Logical Data Models (LDM), Data Element Dictionaries (DED), model release documentation, data mappings
    • Ensure that smaller mission models, which typically are bounded by 1 or 2 “domains” align with the entire collection of models
    • Coordinate, meet, and hold Technical Peer Reviews with Subject Matter Experts (SME)  and Stakeholder communities to discuss requirements and models developed
    • Define and analyze data requirements, map legacy data stores and formats to logical data model concepts

     

    Qualifications

    *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph

    • Twenty (20) years' systems engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
    • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
      •  
      • A Master's degree in a qualifying engineering field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, thereby reducing the requirement to eighteen (18) years of experience.
      • Five (5) years of experience developing CASE tools for model development to include either proprietary ones (ERWin, ERStudio, PowerDesigner) or FOSS ones (ArgoUML, DBDesigner, Umbrello).

    Individual Capabilities Desired:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of customers
    • Must be willing to learn new technologies and maintain and develop technical currency
