  • Overview

    WOOD is currently hiring a Systems Engineer to join our team in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. The Systems Engineer will provide support systems engineering support to the customer program.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide engineering and integration analysis, architecture, technology trade studies, requirements and systems analysis, and technical planning and support
    • Provide leadership, providing guidance, manage individual assigned tasks to schedule, and drive communication and engagement with stakeholders
    • Provide systems engineering, technical analysis and guidance to support corporate mission needs affecting tools/systems within their portfolio.
    • Provide relevant mission and tool understanding to investigate and triage mission needs to discover and document potential impacts
    • Engage and collaborate with tool owners and development teams to analyze, investigate, discover and document technical assessments and responses related to mission needs

     

    Qualifications

    *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph

    • Twenty (20) years' systems engineering experience supporting IC programs. 
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Communications, Computer, or Electrical), Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or similar degree and meets the experience requirements, or equivalent documented combination of training and experience
      • Four (4) years of additional systems engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
      • A Master's degree in a qualifying engineering field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, thereby reducing the requirement to eighteen (18) years of experience
    • Demonstrated systems engineering experience, particularly in the areas of architecture, testing, and integration.
    • Experience in documenting system design from approved requirements
    • Experience with conducting technical reviews, analyses of alternative capabilities/technologies, technical/programmatic risk assessments, and architectural gap analyses
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of stakeholders and manage politically charged environments
    • Ability to breakdown complex problem space, formulate technical strategies, build action plans, and track progress against established baselines to resolve technical challenges and meet customer expectations
    • Knowledge and understanding of customer’s overall mission areas
    • Rich/robust experience in basic systems engineering across a majority of systems engineering “V”
    • Successful candidates will be detail oriented and exhibit strong organization skills; must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to comfortably interact with all levels of organization management while operating in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision

    Individual Capabilities Desired:

    • Systems engineering experience from both technical and programmatic perspectives
    • Experience providing analysis of functional, system and non-functional requirements, data flows and dependencies
    • Familiar with the principles and concepts of Service Oriented Architectures including Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), data management, and containerization.
    • Some experience in project management
