  • Overview

    WOOD is currently hiring a Systems Engineer to join our team in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. The Systems Engineer will deliver systems engineering services to plan, execute, test, deploy and sustain processing and analytic capabilities.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical services to maximize PAC’s use of virtual resources in addition to optimizing the performance and availability of PAC infrastructure. Support, Virtual Infrastructure Evaluation & Review (VIER), which includes program management, mission support, software integration, and software configuration control and release management.
    • Develop, maintain, and execute Program Management System with the objective of delivering all of the required capabilities and satisfy all requirements on time, within budget, and on plan
    • Project risk identification and mitigation status, and other issues associated with this activity while maximizing the visibility of the program to PAC Management
    • Analyze the network overlay, data transformation, and distribution architecture for cloud systems and provide security recommendations for improvements to the Government. The contractor will facilitate implementation of the Government-approved solution, as required
    • Research new technology areas, perform analysis, and make recommendations for the purchase of hardware and software. For evaluations of new releases of already-supported products, the contractor shall include recommendations for transition to new releases in the evaluation. Assessments and recommendations shall be provided quarterly or within one month of requirement definition
    • Monitor system information/ identify actionable items to execute notifications, track, and manage actions
    • Coordinate activities, tasks, and meetings with stakeholders, as requested by the Government
    • Develop and update technical documentation related to system configuration, mapping, process, service records, and the creation and maintenance of system baselines and versions within one month of significant system changes and within one week of security-relevant changes

    Qualifications

     

    *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph

    • Fifteen (15) years' systems engineering experience supporting IC programs
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Communications, Computer, or Electrical), Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or similar degree and meets the experience requirements, or equivalent documented combination of training and experience
      • Four (4) years of additional systems engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
      • A Master's degree or PhD in a qualifying engineering field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. With no engineering or IT degree, (4) years or more of systems engineering experience
    • Demonstrated systems engineering experience, particularly in the areas of architecture, testing, and integration.
    • Experience in documenting system design from approved requirements
    • Experience with conducting technical reviews, analyses of alternative capabilities/technologies, technical/programmatic risk assessments, and architectural gap analyses
    • Successful candidates will be detail oriented and exhibit strong organization skills; must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to comfortably interact with all levels of organization management while operating in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision
