  • Overview

    WOOD is currently hiring a Sr. Computer Scientist, Software Engineer to join our team in Columbia, MD. The Software Engineer will provide full systems and software life-cycle support for incremental software functionality, web/graphic user interface and database support. 



    • Support ad-hoc development efforts relating to ALLSPARK software development (analyze, design, develop, and test) and support front line systems engineering
    • Develop in Linux Environment (RedHat and CentOS)
    • Write plug-ins and automation scripts in Python
    • Develop software on Virtual Servers
    • Develop and administer RDMS (MySQL) 
    • Additional responsibilities as directed 


    *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph

    • Minimum of seven (7) years of Computer Science experience
    • B.S. degree in CS can be substituted for 2 years
    • Within the last 7 years, minimum of 5 years of LINUX experience
    • Javascript experience
    • Java experience
    • Python Experience (may need to write plug-ins to other projects)
    • Strong experience in LINUX (RedHat 6.x and CentOS)
    • Experience developing software on VMs
    • Experience with relational databases (MySQL preferred)
    • Experience with RESTful interfaces
    • Experience with software configuration management (Git preferred)
    • Must be willing to write system documentation

    Desired Skills: 

    • Familiar with Gradle
    • Experience with Jenkins
    • Apache Tomcat experience
