  • Overview

    WOOD is currently hiring a Process Improvement Engineer to join our team of highly skilled Systems and Software Coaches in Annapolis Junction.  The Process Engineer, Level 2 applies Process Improvement (PI), engineering methodologies, and principles to effectively improve and align Enterprise-level processes. Facilitates project teams in accomplishing project activities and objectives. Acts as a key coordinator between multiple project teams to ensure Enterprise-wide integration of engineering efforts.


    • Develops the plans for process assessments, both informal and formal
    • Works closely with the Systems and Software Engineering process development team members to determine organizational readiness for assessment as well as in conducting assessments
    • Coordinates and schedules process assessments
    • Leads assessment teams in conducting both formal and informal assessments
    • Analyzes assessment results and makes improvement recommendations
    • Assesses process improvement (PI) progress and report findings
    • Makes improvement recommendations based on program, organizational, and project needs
    • Leads PI effort utilizing CMM/CMMI or other similar process models
    • Ensures processes are established and documented to support the application and institutionalization of sound systems and software engineering discipline and continuous PI
    • Reviews initiatives and goals in order to describe progress and status of capability needs as related to the various boards oversight
    • Proposes, creates, modifies, and implements engineering boards executive decision support processes
    • Provides recommendations for procedures and processes to coordinate information and decisions supporting engineering board functions and governance
    • Assists in implementing governance processes
    • Develops and provides governance structures to boards being established under guidance
    • Develops and publishes Board and Council agendas and minutes


    *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph

    • Twelve (12) years' experience with Process Improvement (PI) supporting DoD/IC programs
    • Experience is to include, within the past ten (10) years, five (5) years of experience in facilitation, training, methodology development and evaluation, process engineering across all phases of acquisition identifying best practices, change management, business management techniques, organizational development, activity and data modeling, or information system development methods and practices
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or Education from an accredited college or university is required
    • Shall have three (3) years of demonstrated experience in the following:
      • Intelligence Community (IC) experience
      • Experience in estimating, planning, and tracking projects and programs
    • Experience with governance review boards
    • Experience with enterprise architecture
    • Experience with capability development processes
    • Broad understanding of customer missions & operations
