  • Overview

    Data Center Manager, Systems Engineer 

    Supports Tier III activities, to include resolving incidents/problems escalated from Tier II related to the internal workings of the software or COTS/GOTS integration. These are break/fix activities, which are outside of typical development, and implementation activities (such as resource planning, project management, architecture, software development, initial implementation/integration/testing, etc.). This includes providing emergency software or configuration changes to correct problems discovered once operational, providing after hours support as requested by Tier II for outages deemed critical, assisting Tier I and Tier II with updating documentation to reflect changes to the operational system, to include related SOPs and knowledge modules, create/write automated scripts to mitigate re-occurring known errors, or eliminate the known error altogether. Train Tier I and Tier II on modified capability, and gathering and reporting metrics on the number of problems resolved at the Tier II level.


    • Perform work associated with Data Center, NOC management
    • Maintains and administers the current Government IT infrastructure and new applications, servers, databases and processes within the environment.
    • Proposes and implements response time improvements that will ensure a balanced server load and efficient server utilization.
    • Based on requirements and architectures, develops applications and/or hardware equipment to the benefit of the workforce.
    • Ensures IT system and network configurations are fully developed, documented, and kept up-to-date.
    • Keeps track of any changes to the systems.
    • Provides recommendations to improve any of the current processes to support all Headquarters and Field Systems.
    • Support the government in conceptualizing, documenting, and providing briefings on a phased technical approach to deploy health and status monitoring solution(s) with respect to supporting tiers, regions, systems/capabilities or other relevant aspects.
    • Analyzes the current applications and re-evaluates the current requirements for its use.
    • Creates proposals to bring applications up-to-date and remove any platform dependent code contained within.


    *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph

    • Twenty (20) years of experience as a SE in program and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
    • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
      • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
    • Contractor shall currently possess and maintain one of the following certifications:
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) Server Infrastructure
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) Desktop Infrastructure
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) Messaging
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) Communication
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) SharePoint
      • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
      • NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator (NCDA)
      • XML Master Basic (XML)
      • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
      • Sun Certified Network Architect (SCNA)
      • VMware Certified Professional (vSphere 5) – VCP5
      • EMC Isilon Storage Professional (ICSP)
      • (ISC)2 – Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
      • Tibco Trained Professional – Enterprise Message Service (TTP-EMS)
      • Riverbed Certified Solutions Professional (RCSP)
    • Must have data-flow experience.
