    Data Center Manager, Sr. Systems Engineer 

    WOOD Consulting Services Inc. is looking for a Sr. Systems Engineer to serve as a Data Center Manager in Laurel, MD. The Sr. Systems Engineer in this role will participate on a high-visibility DoD/Intel program that provides IT support, systems integration and life cycle support, enterprise application development, network engineering, information systems security (ISS), and 24x7x365 multi-tiered support to mission-focused offices worldwide. In this Systems Engineering role you will serve as the lead Data Center Engineer responsible for support, maintenance, performance and uptime of the customer Data Centers. Duties ensuring the compliance of Access Control, property coordination and accountability, equipment installations/removal, Power Space and Cooling Oversight, and general daily operations.


    • Perform work associated with Data Center, NOC management
    • Manage physical access to the customer’s datacenters and the racks in the datacenters
    • Manage the Datacenters Service Level Agreements
    • Engineer /Design and manage rack layouts and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
    • Track the completion of all service and access requested for Data Center
    • Plan and schedule work to perform in the Data Center during Monday through Friday business hours on a weekly basis
    • Provide equipment accountability and coordination of Data Center equipment installations/removal
    • Advise the Installations and Logistics Office of power, space and cooling requirements and/or concerns
    • Participate in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
    • Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination
    • Derive from the system requirements an understanding of stakeholder needs, functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness


    *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

    • Twenty (20) years of experience as a SE in program and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
      • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
    • Contractor shall currently possess and maintain one of the following certifications:
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) Server Infrastructure
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) Desktop Infrastructure
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) Messaging
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) Communication
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – Server (MCSE-Serv) SharePoint
      • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
      • NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator (NCDA)
      • XML Master Basic (XML)
      • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
      • Sun Certified Network Architect (SCNA)
      • VMware Certified Professional (vSphere 5) – VCP5
      • EMC Isilon Storage Professional (ICSP)
      • (ISC)2 – Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
