  • Overview

    WOOD is currently hiring a Windows Systems Engineer to join our team in the Ft. Meade, MD area.  The Systems Engineer will analyze user requirements to develop system requirements specifications and required functionality. In addition, identify potential requirements overlap and requirement alignment with KMC tools. The Systems Engineer will be required to work with MS-Windows10 OS in a virtual infrastructure to ensure compliance is achieved within the deliverable period of performance provided. 


    • Provide systems engineering support to Windows installation/deployments, and will interact with the Government regarding systems engineering technical considerations, and regarding associated problems, issues or conflicts.
    • Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and other stakeholders as necessary.
    • Provide configuration management support coordinating system changes, software updates, and integration with the hardware baseline
    • Coordinate engineering activities to transition the Agency to a Utility Cloud (UC) environment, and include partnering with supporting organizations
    • Assist in the architecture development, planning, process engineering, and dependency/interface planning for the UC deployment efforts
    • Oversee the integration of the hardware/software architecture, processes, and plans for VDI deployments Documentation may include systems configuration, architectural, software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation



    *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph

    • Fifteen (15) years' systems engineering experience supporting DoD/IC programs. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.
      • Four (4) years of additional systems engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
      • A Master's degree in a qualifying engineering field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, thereby 
    • Previous experience working with Windows 10.
    • Experience in software deployment.
    • Previous experience with automation/scripting.
    • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Active Directory (AD), and/or POSH (ClojureScript / React library).
    • Configuration Management experience and with scheduling and coordination.
    • Experience coordinating multiple activities to produce solutions.
