  • Overview

    WOOD is currently hiring a cleared (TS/SCI with Poly) Sr. Optical/Telecom Engineer to join our team in the Ft. Meade, MD area. This person will function as a Sr. Engineer for Next Generation Processing. The Sr. Optical Engineer will be responsible for evaluating, testing and documenting MFA solutions as well as supporting the engineer team front end solutions. 


    • Engineering support to solve complex SIGINT problems for customer with telecom equipment, systems and standards of optical front end systems interfaces
    • Front-end collection systems requirements, development, analysis and fulfilment
    • SIGINT Collection, testing scenarios, procedures and integration methods
    • Perform failure mode analysis and root cause determination of issues with SIGINT systems/applications
    • Compare metrics or analysis of collection to understand system performance and provide optimization recommendations for SIGINT systems 
    • Perform bit-level analysis of computer communications protocols and generate reports 


    Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

    • Strong background in SIGINT Systems
      • Signal Analysis: Individual shall have analysis experience with modern digital/optical telecommunications systems, to include Bell, CEPT, or SDH/PDH digital communications signals and the payload data within these signal structures
    • (5) years of engineering experience 
    • (5) recent years in Modern Telecommunication Systems: OTN/Optical, ATM, SONET, SDH
    • Telephony Switching 
    • Systems Engineering 
    • Advanced Protocols: OTN, ASON, SIP, MPLS
