    WOOD is currently hiring a Linux Systems Administrator, level II to join our team in the Ft. Meade, Md area. 

    Responsibilities

    • The Linux Administrator will configure and load systems software and hardware
    • Provide Tier II level systems administration support of computers, servers, racks of equipment and manage LAN interfaces
    • The Linux Administrator will provide support for web development, testing and systems integration including
    • The Systems Administrator will also write installation and automation scripts as necessary- Typically in Perl, Python, BASH, Korn, Ruby or similar
    • Perform other duties to support systems and network infrastructure as assigned 

    Qualifications

    TS/SCI with Polygraph is necessary

    • Minimum of a Technical Associates Degree with five (5) years of experience in Computer/Server installation, maintenance and administration
    • Four (4) years can be substituted for a Bachelors Degree
    • Five (5) years of experience troubleshooting LAN, computer hardware and software applications
    • Experience performing and assisting with equipment specification, set-up, problem resolution
    • Experience providing tech support to users of all levels 
    • Experience optimizing systems operations 
    • Solid understanding of Linux, Red Hat command lines
    • scripting skills
    • ability to work shift work/nights as needed 

    The following certifications can each be substituted for one (1) year of experience each: CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, ITIL v3 Foundation, RHCSA, RHCE, Cisco: CENT, CCT, CCDA, or CCNA, CEH, VMWare – VCP, CISSP, Jupiter, Hadoop, Brocade: BCNE or BCNA, CDFM, DAU, DAWIA or certification specific to the Labor Category.
