    Software Engineer, Level 2

    WOOD is currently hiring a KEY Software Engineer, Level 2 to join our team as a leader on one of our pending prime programs supporting the IC.  The ideal Software Engineer will develop, maintain and enhance complex, diverse software systems to include but not limited too: Processing-intensive analytics, novel alogorithms development, manipulation of very large data sets, real-time business systems.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities Include: 

     

    • Research and development of applications and systems using Object Oriented Programming languages such as: Java, C#, C++ or similar.  Java preferred 
    • Software Engineer should be able to work individually and as part of a team.  Requires candidates that can think on their feet and utilize their resources 
    • Reviews and tests software components, Unit Testing in an test driven development environment
    • Resolves software problem reports
    • Utilizes software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Should have experience in SDLC and Agile 
    • Provides specific input to software components of systems design to include hardware and software trade-offs, software re-use, COTS and GOTS as needed
    • The Software Engineer must be comfortable working on new development projects from soup to nuts- minimal support is required on this program

    We are hiring candidates that are passionate about change and willing/able to work in a complex environment across multiple technology stacks.  A genuine interest in Cryptology and/or Cryptanalysis is important as well. 

    Qualifications

    TS/SCI with Polygraph necessary

     

    • Bachelors Degree in a technical field with minimum of 14 years of experience in software development or related discipline
    • 18 years of experience can be used in lieu of Degree
    • Oversees one of more teams to ensure work is completed in accordance to constraints of the SD process being used for the project 
    • Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, systems resource or interface constraints 
    • Implement recommendations for improving documentation and/or efficiency
