  • Overview

    WOOD is currently hiring Systems Engineers Microsoft Project and/or Project Server experience to join our prime contracts team in Ft. Meade, MD.  



    Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems.  Develops and maintains roadmaps and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) 



    • Assists in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue.
    • Assists in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
    • Analyzes and proposes appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
    • Supervises or coordinates the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.
    • Leads contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of the project engineering staff and technicians.
    • Approves delivery of work products of multiple Processes Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288.
    • Independently makes decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a project.
    • Briefs stakeholders and presents the status on all technical aspects of their project.

    • Demonstrated experience with MS Project and/or MS Project Server is desirable.
    • Shall have demonstrated experience developing and maintaining program Roadmaps and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
    • Build baseline schedules according to IMS template.
    • Responsible for interaction with development teams and technical project leads.
    • Responsible for creating and integrating program schedules into one or more IMS(s).
    • Capture and prioritize requirements and outcomes.
    • Identify both internal and external dependencies.
    • Analyze portfolio and program schedules, dependencies, issues, and risks.
    • Research and perform technology integration (i.e., JIRA to MS Project plugins).
    • Create associated IMS documentation.



    • Must have at least six (6) years of demonstrated experience supporting Software Engineering.
    • Fifteen (15) years' systems engineering experience supporting DoD/IC programs. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.
      • A Master's degree or Ph.D. in a qualifying engineering field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, thereby reducing the requirement to thirteen (13) years of experience.
      • A High School diploma or GED and 19 years experience also qualifies.
