  • Overview

    WOOD is currently hiring Sr. Systems Engineers, level 6 to join our prime contract in Ft. Meade, MD.  This person will be the MS Project/Project Server SME on our Integrated Master Schedule program. 


    Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288:

    • Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal;
    • Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement;
    • Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area - Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Life-cycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management;
    • Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply.


    • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288.
    • Approves delivery of work products of all Process Areas defined in the ISO/IEC 15288.
    • Plans and develops engineering projects with unique or complex aspects that impact major capabilities of high priority to the enterprise.
    • Independently resolves important engineering issues requiring the use of advanced technology.

    • Shall have demonstrated experience with MS Project and/or MS Project Server.
    • Shall have demonstrated experience developing and maintaining program Roadmaps and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
    • Build baseline schedules according to IMS template.
    • Responsible for interaction with senior agency leaders, development teams and technical project leads.
    • Provide systems engineering and technical assistance to leadership.
    • Responsible for creating and integrating program schedules into one or more IMS(s).
    • Capture and prioritize requirements and outcomes.
    • Identify program milestones, evaluate mission needs, and align with outcomes.
    • Identify both internal and external dependencies.
    • Analyze portfolio and program schedules, dependencies, issues, and risks.
    • Perform thread analysis.
    • Research and perform technology integration (i.e., JIRA to MS Project plugins).
    • Ability to provide IMS training to program personnel.
    • Create associated IMS documentation.


    *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph


      • Twenty (20) years' systems engineering experience supporting DoD/IC programs. 
      • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.
        • A Master's degree or Ph. D. in a qualifying engineering field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, thereby reducing the requirement to eighteen (18) years of experience.
        • A High School diploma or GED and 24 years experience also qualifies.
