Overview

System Administrator (Shift) Level 2 (SA-S2)

 

Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX, Linux, Windows and Virtual operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Support will be provided on a 12-hour shift, 24 hour/ 7 day a week basis complying with the shift schedule detailed within the associated TTO. Candidate will be considered Emergency Essential, providing support during headquarters closures and Federal Government Holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Provides assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
  • Provides in-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems.
  • Configures and manages UNIX, Linux, Windows and Virtual (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity of and configures network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Provides detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.

Qualifications

*All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph

  • Ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator (SA).
  • Contractor shall demonstrate at least five (5) years of experience supporting the IT systems/infrastructure of a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
    • Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
  • Contractor shall within 180 days of being accepted on the contract, earn and maintain the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation (or higher) certification and one of the following:
    • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
    • CompTIA – Linux+
    • Linux Professional Institute – Level 1 (LPI-1) (or higher)
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
