Salary Range: $135,000 to $150,000

** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

 

Overview:Seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support a mission-critical U.S. Government initiative focused on developing and sustaining a secure network operations environment. This role will help migrate customer applications, services, and platforms to a Medallion Model architecture, introducing new cyber capabilities to counter emerging threats.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end data ingestion and processing pipelines using cloud and platform technologies.
  • Transform raw (bronze) data into clean (silver) and projected (gold) tiers following the Medallion Model.
  • Schedule, orchestrate, and monitor automated/semi-automated data pipelines.
  • Map and integrate data assets across multiple mission customers.
  • Develop and maintain process improvement plans for the Data Engineering team.
  • Automate data ingestion and pipeline orchestration using scripting and programming languages.
  • Leverage AWS CloudWatch and similar tools to monitor pipeline performance and transparency.
  • Document and communicate Standard Operating Procedures across the team.
  • Ensure technical accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management and government stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
    [Ten (10) years of experience (for a total of eighteen (18) or more years) may be substituted for a degree.]
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.

Required Skills

  • At least 4 years of experience performing data engineering work in a cloud environment.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Relational, NoSQL, and/or file-based storage (e.g., Databricks, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL).
    • DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Splunk.
    • Databricks, Cloud Relational Database Services, and Elasticsearch.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with:
    • Databricks workflows, Unity Catalog, Autoloader, Delta Live Tables, and Apache Spark.
    • Apache Niagara Files (NiFi).
    • Collaboration tools including MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and Confluence.
  • AWS Professional Certification or equivalent.

Desired Certifications

  • DoD 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level I (e.g., CISSP) highly desired.
