Salary Range: $100,000 to $125,000

** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

 

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting a mission-critical government program. This role requires a seasoned systems engineer with a strong background in both system administration and software development environments. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, collaborative settings and is comfortable working with minimal guidance to solve complex technical challenges.

Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Lead Developer, Government leadership, and cross-functional development teams to define priorities and drive agile processes.
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams, government stakeholders, and end users to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables.
  • Support the development and maintenance of systems using technologies such as AWS, .NET, C#, Java, PHP, Linux, Windows, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Assist in the preparation of project schedules, identify and communicate dependencies, risks, and impediments.
  • Contribute to requirements management, ensuring clear definitions of "done" in collaboration with customers.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation and support project planning activities.

Qualifications

System Engineer Level 2:

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and fourteen (14) years' experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.  
    • Nineteen (19) years' SE experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience working on software development teams with diverse technical skillsets.
  • Proven ability to operate independently and collaboratively in high-visibility, mission-driven environments.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience administering systems in Windows and Linux environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with managing systems in virtualized/cloud environments, particularly AWS is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian Suite tools, including Confluence and Jira is preferred.
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation and project schedules is preferred.
